I ordered a 4x12!
Post by daveyisgreat on Jul 14th, 2016, 8:46pm

Just excited, that's all.

It's to match my SLO! Navy blue tolex! Emi Legend speakers! Awesomeness will commence in a few weeks!

Congrats! Enjoy it loud whenever you can!
My 4x12 days seem like a distant memory lately, so am very envious!

Congrats! I really like Soldano's cabs and how they're easy to dial in with a variety of amps/sounds. The v12 speakers are good but took a while to break in for me. Once they settle in, they're good all rounders!

It came yesterday! I've only had a short time to play through it but I'm super excited about how great it sounds! It sounds huge!
I can't seem to figure out how to post a picture so here's a link --

looks great, whats the deal with the customised oversized part? It certainly looks bigger than normal! Does it affect the sound being oversized?

It's bigger than the stock cab -- 2 extra inches tall and wide (30x30x14 inches versus 28x28x14). Rear-loaded stock Eminence speakers, with a removable back panel and Marshall-style brace post. Very custom, and very, very cool!

I've been gone for the past several weeks so I haven't had a chance to open it up really extensively, but so far I'm extremely, extremely stoked on it! It sounds huge and takes up a lot of sonic space. But nothing seems overpowered or uneven -- thick highs, just massive, massive lows, and present and articulate mids that cut through but don't cut your head off. It has a looser feel and response but it punches hard.

Overall it has a very pleasing and balanced sound and tonality that makes my ears very happy with what I'm hearing. It's an amazing sounding cab!

yeah mate its really something! have you had a chance to compare it to a stock cabinet? I ordered mine custom in tweed but just kept it stock.

I actually had a thought to have them make up a marshall sized cab, but had to stop spending too much money haha!

I do like the sound of the stock cab though, but yours would be great to hear!

Just have to say I'm still so totally into this cab! It sounds incredible. The stock Emi speakers are way underrated, and when given some room to breathe in this oversized cab they speak with massive authority! Super huge sounding, yet clear and articulate. I think it really lets the SLO open up and the added internal volume adds a bit of tonal balance to the sound. I think it can handle any genre and style.

I ran another more Marshall-styled amp through this cab as well (PRS Original Sewell, if anyone wants to know) and it killed! It had major teeth and chewed up every note I put into it. It roared, it shrieked, it sang, it growled. Aggressive and cutting, yet meaty and smooth.

This cab is a winner, as far as I'm concerned. I think it would sound awesome with any amp out there. Amazing! Just amazing. I love it!
