xx any delay units (non rack) work with HR50+?
« Thread started on: Oct 31st, 2017, 6:47pm »

Been putting off buying the G major II for a while because I'm generally not interest in tweaking a bunch of settings for a bunch of different effects although I'm sure I'd appreciate the unit if I did buy one.

I'd ideally like to spend less money and just have a delay unit that works in the loop of my HR50+.

There's an Eventide floor unit I saw, Boss dd-500, Nova Delay system...

Anyone have experience with these units?

The Gmajor and Gmajor 2 are so simple to program, especially if you only need a tiny bit of delay or chorusing or octave on occasion like me. No massive processing for me..used very sparingly. An added bonus,,,,one stomp and the Gmajor/ Gmajor 2 will not only change your effect patch setting, but will also put your amp on the correct channel with absolutely NO gaps in signal. Seamless and flawless...been using a Gmajor or Gmajor 2 in my SLO loop for over a decade now with my gigging band. Never an issue,,,,makes my SLO basically a midi controlled amp for channel changes, thanks to the Gmajor relay out. Highly recommended if you plan on utilizing your effects loop.

Iíve had great success with the line 6 DL4 delay modeller stomp box - the green one. Though Iím now tempted to try the the G major after the recommendation above 😀

I think I am most keen to the Boss DD500 because it's easier for me to find one and the price is acceptable.

Anyone have any luck or "input" on this unit? grin

As far as using a delay pedal in the loop of my HR50+, I have a MXR Carbon Copy that I don't like in the Soldano loop. I use it with other amps. It sounds ok on low gain settings of the normal channel but with gain on the overdrive channel it doesn't sound good at all.

For the HR, I also use the TC Gmajor 2..........it is awesome. Just as already said by lynch, the effects on it are sweet and the channel switching capability is something I really like.

Original Flash back works perfectly in the loop of an SLO-100. It can handle line level +4db signal all day long.
