Well, I use my GMAJOR 2 in my SLO loop for gigs for volume/channel change stuff. But, I do have a Morley Lil Alligator, and it seems to work wonderfully in the SLO loop. Great pedal, can adjust min. and max. volumes, and sounded very transparent and worked great this summer when I tried it in the SLO loop while playing around the house. So, I'm sure it would work just as well in the hot Rod loop.

The fact of the matter is that they will all influence the amount of gain the amp gives as there are preamp tubestages behind the loop.

So, when I set my Gmajor 2 rhythm channel to -3db, and keep my lead at 0db, I'm kinda cutting back on gain for the rhythm channel? Hmm....you know, I do notice it. When I plug straight in, it's still best and it seems to have more gain. But, for a top 40 cover band, I need the Gmajor 2. I love it. I do use an Ibanez TS9 for a bit of a boost. Either way, still the best amp I've ever played, and i will never use another. People drool over the amp like every gig we play....kinda like pulling up in a lamborghini when eveyone is driving Hondas. I think I can safely say that nobody owns a Soldano in like at least a 500 mile radius from where I live.

I bought a used Morley Alligator in near mint condition and will try in the loop.

I also have gmajor2 ...but simply don't want to carry gmajor with midi pedalboard for jam session.

If doesn't function i re-sell pedal ....

Will change tone no way around it. To what degree, your ear will decide. Mike also makes a Sound Man Eliminator as well. Does the same thing via a stomp box.
