I love this amp. I have owned one many years ago that had Deyoung transformers and have had several SLO's. This amp is friggin killer. I have read mixed reviews, but I think many people just echo the sentiment that it is not an SLO. No it is not an SLO, it is different. It is darker but the three channels are all excellent.

The global master and individual channel gain and volume make it easy to control volume and conjure up a variety of tones. Clean is big and bold and will break up nicely if you crank the gain. Loves the Bogner wessex in front. The crunch channel is like a super muscular 800 with more gain, squish and note bloom and a bit rounder on the edges. The lead channel smokes but is a little darker and less hi fi that the SLO. Not better not worse, just different. It is a little more forgiving and has a little softer, chunkier feel. Love it!

Anyone have .02 to share?

The Decatone is one awesome amp. I used to have one, and I wish I'd never gotten rid of it. I have a Hot Rod 50+ now, and I will not make the same mistake again.

The Decatone's crunch channel is where I lived on that amp. It is sooooo awesome!

Hmm....I remember back in like 2002, I saw a decatone in mint shape on ebay for like $1200. I was into Marshalls at the time, but not really getting a tone I was happy with. Had I bought that, I'd probably still be with it. Got my SLO in 2005, and honestly, have had no desire to look at or try any other amp since. Starting to head that way in the guitar department, too, pretty much realizing that Ibanez Jems are the ultimate guitar for me.

I had an early production Decatone with DeYoung transformers and it's definitely the best multi-channel amp ever made IMO.

I'm also a huge fan of the Decatone's Crunch channel and I hope I can coax it out of the SLO-100 (with some biasing or possibly an eventual mod?).

A Supercharger GTO going into a Decatone Crunch channel is one of my favorite fuzz tones.
