Wow, it's been a while since I've checked in on the forum here. I just took my SLO to a very knowledgable tech here in the Chicagoland area and had it biased and had new tubes installed! I got a smokin' deal on a matched set of NOS Sylvania 6L6GCs and some NOS JAN-GE 12AX7s and Mullard ECC83s, so I figured, what the heck, I'll put them in! I notice a good bit of difference, the NOS glass does seem to add more dimension to the sound. Just wanted to do it though, so I did, and I love it!

Always wanted to try those Sylvania 6L6's......I run JJ's for power tubes usually. SED's are good too, although I had one fail and burn up a grid plate resistor in a Decatone I used to have. NOS glass is good for sure....I have a good number of old American 12AX7's. They really make a difference.
