xx Diamond/Soldano 327SD guitar amp demo
« Thread started on: Apr 5th, 2015, 1:13pm »

Hey guys,

LB here, Blues City Music owner. I shot a new video of this amp while at the Diamond HQ last month. Sam Austin, Diamond manager did the playing for me.

NO GAMES. I used my Canon 5D Mark III full frame, DSLR camera in manual via a tripod, with 1/50 shutter, F8 aperture, and ISO of 800 or so with 24 frames per second, and 1920 x 1080 HD. Yamaha 2 channel mixer, Shure SM57 instrument mic off center/off axis into a Diamiond straight 4x12" cabinet with 8 ohm Celestion Vintage 30''s.

Mike really digs how the amp turned out. Sovtek 5881/6L6WGC's like all other Soldano amps, 6 - 12AX7's, solid state rectifier, fabulous effects loop, 2.5 channels with independent EQ and Presence controls, Depth control, gloval master volume, and blue LED back lit head shell.

This amp rocks. For those wanting a more modern clean channel, this is it. It's based on the Diamond Phantom amp.

Enjoy. It's available now, and shipping by 30 April 2015. Let me know, you know where to find me.

Saw the video....that amp is way cool. Pretty neat to see collaborations like this. Thanks for putting it up.

Is it true they're charging a few hundred dollars more just to reverse the silver/black colors?

Yes, we are. I'm part owner of Diamond. It's not a trick, it's that there will ONLY be 10 of these made, no more in silver on black, and low numbers mean higher prices for parts etc. I own the very first one other than CEO's. Mine is #002.

Should ship to me this week. Can't wait.

What parts, Lynn?

Aren't the limited and the non-limited versions of this amp technically identical, and the only difference is cosmetic, i.e., the tolex pattern?

If there are in fact technical / sonic differences that go beyond the tolex pattern, could you please let us know what they are?

Thanks in advance.
