xx Soldano amp demos and 101 classes
« Thread started on: Aug 20th, 2014, 10:38pm »

Hey guys,

Seems to be a lot of question here about whether there are any new videos on Soldano amps. Well, that is an easy yes.

$10,000 bucks later in equipment purchases, I am in the middle of a video onslaught which will showcase real deal HD video feed and studio quality audio. I've spent hours in our daily working studio using everything under the sun as well as when I go remote and do videos. No games, flat eq's and killer mics.

If you are interested, just go to my Blues City Music YouTube channel or my Facebook page and you can find 8 videos there right now. Next up will be 101 classes on the Decatone, Astroverb, Lucky 13, and Avenger, as well as an updated and WAY better 44 video. Soon will be another 5 guitar demo of the SLO-100. Most of these have been shot, I am knee deep in editing which takes a while and isn't easy. I'll get them up as soon as I can.

Hope you enjoy.

Great intiative James ! Kudos !

One (positive) critique: you really need to take a hard look at how you record your own voice/comments. It sounds dull and overdriven and really takes away from an otherwise really nice effort.

For instance take a look at the Pete Thorn or Lance Kelltner vids which, to me anyway, are sort of a benchmark on how a productdemo should be done.

Any chance some of the players would actually tune up to A440 ?
A lot of demos I hear today everyone is always detuned real low which always sounds like modern metal player .
Would be nice to hear a variety of tunings as well as different styles of playing .

I got so disgusted with guitar players I decided to do it myself. Signed, Drummer

Thanks for the comments.

I've tweaked the treble boost for the videos now. Sounds much better I think as my voice is a little deeper than some I suppose. Not trying to make a major motion picture, don't have time.

Simplicity is the answer. Demo the gear, make the sound as good as possible, and get out of the way. No one cares about my voice, they want to hear the amp. All of my amp demo videos have a lot of playing in them and very little spoken voice. After all, that's why they are watching.

I'm editing the Louis Electric Amplifiers videos now. Audio was recorded separately with 3 mics through our daily working recording studio. We ran everything through our Neve 88R in the main tracking room which is 35'x30'x20' with a suspension floor. Doesn't get any better than that. Elvis recorded here in the early 70's. Neve 88R's start at $1,000.000 bucks today.

I plan on having my good bud Bill Hudson do the Diamond amps and more than likely the SLO as well next time when I'm in LA. Pete is a great player, but Bill is off the hook.

Thanks,

LB

JB,

Both the HR25 and 44 were played with guitars at 440. I only detune to 435 in Little Rock with my House of Melody Band.
