xx power for x99 preamp

Hi i use the x99 preamp with a marshall 20/20 power amp.
it doesn't sound good.
what would be the best power to use wiyh that preamp?

impossible to find Soldano SM100r

Did anyone try a Mesa 395 with the X99?
I'm looking for a new power amp for my preamp.
Have to decide between VHT and Mesa.

Old mesa 2:90 sounds great with the X99. I've used that combination for years until I bought a SLO.
