xx Eminence V12 clarification
« Thread started on: Aug 9th, 2013, 10:57am »

I run my SLO through two Eminence V12's in an old ADA split stack cab. I was just curious if my V128's (8 ohms) were really the same as the V12's Soldano uses in their cabs, since they seem to use the 16 ohm version that you can't buy. I emailed Bill Sundt, and here was his reply (in case anyone else was pondering this)

the speakers are the same except for the impedance. The only special request on ours is a paper gasket on the back of the basket since we front load the speakers. We do sell the speakers for $90 each but they would sound the same as yours.

Hi! New here from Germany, big Soldano fan smiley smiley

Soldano website: Eminence Legend V1216 = 50 watts
Eminence website: Legend V128 = 120 watts
BCM website: Eminence “Soldano tweaked” Legend = 70 watts

I am confused... always the same speaker?

Best, Tom

Personally, I'd go with the manufacturer's specs.
They did make them, after all. rolleyes

Very interesting guys... I am considering a speaker upgrade using the Eminence V128's and the Celestion LynchBacks (All 8 ohms) but there is a significant variance in wattage between the 2... I've been told that the volume difference won't be all that perceptible.
Eminence Legend V128 = 120 watts
Celestion LynchBack = 50 watts
