I'm a long time JCM 800 user, and after a lot of research and reviews I decided to give the Soldano a try...I had no idea what I was missing. I love this thing...looks like I'll be selling my JCM 800!!!

I went with an early model HR-50. I'm not much into 100 watt amps, too damn loud, and you can't get that really great tube saturated sound at reasonable volumes. I'm sure the SLO is awesome, but I don't play stadiums, so I just could not justify the wattage or the money involved.

My amp is the "plain" single channel amp...I was used to using the JCM 800, so this was the perfect setup for me. Also, I'm not in to multi-channel amps that utilize a common eq section. I don't like the same eq for my overdrive tone as I do for my clean tones.

I was using multiple JCM 800's before (1 clean, 1 overdrive), so now I'm looking to get me another early model "plain" HR-50. Just in case anyone has one they want to get rid of!!!
