Fellow Soldano users,

I was wondering if anyone here had ever done a comparison between a Soldano amp (preferably SLO or Hot Rod) run through a 4x12 and the same amp run through two 2x12s. I've always preferred the sound of either of my Hot Rods (100 and 50) through a 4x12(especially a Soldano 4x12 with the old X12000 speakers) to the sound of a single 2x12 cabinet, but I'm wondering if two 2x12 cabs would give me all the thump of a single 4x12 with added portability.

Would enjoy hearing your thoughts,

david

I don't think they will thump like a 4x12, because they dont have the resonance like a 4x12 cab does.

Bill at Soldano told me when I asked that the two 2X12's would have more internal space/volume and that would equal more bass. Anything else I wouldn't know though... cool

Thanks for the replies, friends. smiley

I actually emailed Bill myself, and he told me more or less the same thing.
