xx SLO used price?
« Thread started on: Feb 23rd, 2004, 9:49pm »

Hey guys. How much would a stock SLO-100 cost used? I looked in the Orions Blue Book at a music store and it says that the recomended music store price used was $1650! Is that about right for a used stock SLO?

I think $1800-2000 is the regular price for used SLOs on Ebay. Maybe more than ($2000-2200) that if it's a newer head, or if it has all the mods...
Do a search on finished Ebay auctions.

I'd like to know how much they cost new, though. huh

Yeah, ebay has them for between $1800 and $2200.

I think the brand new SLO's sell for around $3000.

I picked up an SLO for $1600 at Guitar Center. It was stickered at $1899 (List on a new one is $3499, lowest advertised price I have seen for a new one was $2700). I was trying out the Peavey XXX, Marshall JCM2000 and Mesa DRs to see what tone I liked, when the manager came up and mentioned he had one in the back which he could bring out for me. As soon as he said "Soldano" I told him to bring it out. This thing is CLEAN. No dents, dings, or scratches, and it had the original footswitch & cable, which were also in "like new" condition. The only things it didnt have were an owners manual and a cover. As soon as I plugged into it, I was hooked. The first chord I played sounded almost exactly like EVH - and that did it for me.

Bottom line, I certainly wouldnt want to pay more than blue book value on a used amp/instrument. It is certainly in the low end ballpark for the Soldano.

See, I hope that I can get one for about $1600 - $2000. I have to sell my 5150 II first though! wink
