xx Pre-amp tube ?

I read somewhere that Mike Soldano was saying that the tubes ending in "S" don't work well in certain pre-amp slots. Does anyone have any more information on this?

I will try to research and post if I found out more as well.

He was referring to the Sovtek LPS tubes. Mike reccomends using them in the first position and using the Sovtek LP tubes in the remaining preamp slots. the reason is because for some reason the spiral filimant (the S in LPS) which reduces noise doesn't fair well in a high gain cascading circuit like that used in Soldano amps.
