Anyone used the Marshall Vintage Modern?
Post by ryanmichael95 on Feb 2nd, 2011, 12:16pm

I may have an opportunity to pick one up to add to my music collection for a good price. I've researched these and have heard they are really among the top sounding marshall's ever made, on par with a JTM45 with more versatility. I know it's design is based on a JTM45. The designer that made the Hendrix themed JTM reissue also designed the Vintage Modern. Every clip I hear is spot on old school Marshall, and the higher gain range sounds like a Plexi pushed with a good overdrive pedal to me. I never really liked the 800's, 900's, or the 2000 series too much, and the JVM isn't my cup of tea either. The Vintage Modern however really peaks my interest especially since I could pick up one for a great price. So, if any of you have any experience with one, if you'd share it, it would be greatly appreciated. Who better to ask than fellow Soldano players due to unbelieveable tonal expertise and taste!
