fargen amps?
Post by guccieng on Jul 14th, 2011, 11:23pm

hi guys. i'm really jonesin' for some marshall tones. i've looked all over ebay only to find dreamers, and craigslist isn't much better. trying to find a jmp mkII 2203 (or 2204) or a jcm800 version of the same (vertical inputs). the fargen olde 800 mkII sounds too good to be true by the description. before i go throwing down that much money just to scratch an itch, has anyone actually played one? is it really the idealized jmp/jcm sound? i've got a custom replica '59 les paul (made by marc culbertson of gilmer wood, oregon) on the way and would really like to hear it through a killer marshall from time to time.

nothing? not surprised i guess; not a 'volume' seller (no pun intended!). anyway, i just scored an unmolested '79 mkII master volume (2204) 50w for $750. all original with no hack jobs. as for the marshall mojo: it has it! omg does it have it!

you ain't kiddin'! i'm scared to even move this thing for fear of changing the sound! i ordered a shrunk (is that even a word?) version of the headshell from sourmash guitar cabs in florida. came out quite nice:
