Wondering if anyone has ran EL34's in their Hotrod amps ? If so , do you like it better than 6L6 tubes ?

I think you have to change the value of the screen grid resistors to run EL34's to avoid damage to the output transformer. ...Don't quote me on this! Might want to contact Soldano about it.

Thanks Mikey67, i had a EL34 Avenger. I guess i did'nt write the thread right. I should of said:"Does anyone run a HotRod amp with EL-34's".

I've run mine with 6V6s nice and hot for a bit earlier breakup and liked it that way a lot. I just had to get the bias adjusted for this.

However I agree with mikey67 that you need to do more to the amp than just adjust bias, in order to run EL34s.
