I have been using a Fender Telecaster Custom (neck position humbucker) with 13 strings. I want to get a fatter mid range sound (the Tele humbucker sounds a bit shrill to me). Any recommendations? (Played through the gain channel of a Lucky 13.)

A thirteen string Tele. huh I'd like to see a picture of that.

There are a few pedals you could try:

The classic 808 type pedal (Tube Screamer) seems to add plenty enough mids for most folks. Just roll the gain to zero and use it as a mid boost. There are several out there like the TS9, TS808, OD808, or even some higher dollar copies like the Fulltone Fulldrive and the Barber LTD: http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Maxon-OD808-Overdrive?sku=155025

Demeter makes a pedal called the Mid Boost that may work: http://www.demeteramps.com/products/pedals/mb2b.html

Diaz makes a pedal called the Texas Ranger that is basically a Dallas Rangemaster that adds mids rather than treble: http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Diaz-Texas-Ranger-Treble-Boost?sku=151061

Analogman makes a similar pedal that boosts mids like the Diaz Texas Ranger called the Beano Boost: http://www.buyanalogman.com/Beano_Boost_p/am-beano-boost.htm

The good ole' Klon Centaur really makes a fat tone for me. Not as much of a major mid hump, but no doubt thick and fat: http://www.klon-siberia.com/

Or you could always just use an EQ pedal like the Boss GE-7: http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Boss-GE7-Equalizer-Pedal?sku=151324

Sorry...I meant 13 gauge strings on the Tele (They nicely lift the strings just enough to make it easier to use a slide and fatten the tone). I actually have been pulling effects out of the chain with the Soldano (Lucky 13) as even the best seem to suck out some tone. I have been thinking about looking around for a guitar with a single neck humbucker with a darker sound.

laugh laugh laugh

That makes more sense to me. Honestly, I did not doubt you didn't have such a beast. There are some crazy instruments out there and some guys are building some strange guitars to be more creative.
