So what's on everyone's list for the new year?

First on my list...After a long wait, I'm finally gonna upgrade my accoustic and get something really nice. I'm looking at a Collings OM2 or OM3. Not sure if I'll get a cutaway or not, I need to play one.

Second with any luck will be a Telecaster. If my band was still together I would have this as first on my list, but right now I'm doing what I can to give my ears a break.

Third is a Marshall 1960AX or BX cab with Greenbacks.

Fourth is an SLO.

The accoustic is a done deal but the other three are only on my wish list.

On my list for this new year is a Bogner Ecstasy 101b (best amp I've ever played) and a Bogner cab.

Just recently won an auction on ebay for a Menatone King of the Britains dist./boost, which is basically the best plexi in a box pedal you can buy...can't wait for that. Also, on my list is a pedalboard. I'll be pretty satisfied with my gear after this year.

I really want an SLO to go with my Avenger.

A new jackson would be nice, maybe a U.S.A. Rhodes or a Kelly. cool

UPDATE

I went looking for an accoustic and found my Telecaster. I bought a Fender Custom Shop, Custom Classic, Translucent Bing Cherry, with birds eye maple neck Tele and all I can say is WOW!!!

If you're a Fender lover, your owe it to yourself to play a Custom Shop guitar. I've played a TON of Fenders and they are hands down the best of the best.

What a great guitar. Here's a link, that's it on the right.

So now the Collings has to wait.

Steve that is a sweet Tele my friend.Best of luck enjoy it.

An opinion shared by myself, and a lot of other guys I know that have been in this racket for 30 or more years,is that Fender,AND Gibson are building the best guitars that they have made EVER right now.

I have a MIM Tele,I think I posted pics of it on this board a while back.
I added the bells and whistles I wanted,as well as did a slight scalloping to the neck.
Im into it for like 6 bills, maybe 7 tops, and anyone who picks up the guitar, including myself, cant put it down.It sings like and angel, unreal.

I have a Jazz bass like yours.A MIM.For the dough, the thing is GREAT!!!!

Nice top on that Paul you have too.I have an Iced Tea,nice flame on it.I bought it for the feel.Of the 20 I played the day I bought mine,it was the one that sang to me.

Hey, thanks for the complements Mike.

I agree that the new Fender gear is really the best they've ever made. I heard mixed reviews about Gibsonsí throughout the years though. Iíve had to do a LOT of work on mine, but considering how killer it sounds, Iíll let their QC problems slide.

In other news...I just ordered some Fender Custom Shop 1969 pickups. They should be here in a few days. Iím gonna put them in my í57 reissue. Iíll post a review after I get some playing time in.

Hey Steve,

Dude! That Fender Tele is one sweet looking guitar, I love the color. I've been wanting a nice Telecaster for awhile now, they are awesome guitars, great recording guitars too. Nice to pair it up with a Lester so you have that beefy low end and then a twang of a nice Tele over that. Very nice, congrats on that purchase man. Enjoy the hell out of it!

I'm with you on the Marshall BX cab. I'm really considering on getting one for the Soldano SLO. Just to tame the volume a little and allow me to maybe kick the Master up a notch. I really like Vintage 30's, but I'm really curious about playing the Soldano through a set of Greenbacks.

I finally got that Germino Classic 45 too! Man this is one sweet amp. I got a 2x12 Germino cab with G12H30's to be able to play it clean with a smidge of break up. This amp is a great match with the SLO. I haven't tried the Germino through the SLO's slave out yet. I may give it a try today.

The Germino is such a great amp, I highly recommend it for anyone who is looking for a great vintage Marshall vibe (JTM45 flavor). Takes pedals extremely well, basically anything you throw at it. Here are some pics...

I couldn't afford a custom shop jackson kelly (one pup and a floyd) so I ordered a new carvin dc125 with purple quilt top.

It's a funny thing to want a guitar with less features than stock and it ends up costing more.

An akai DPS24 is also on the list with an SLO.

Godzilla......

Ive followed Carvin for close to 30 years now.I bought an XB 100 head from them years ago and still get catalogs.

And in all that time,I have never played a Carvin guitar much less saw one!!!!!

Im interested in hearing your thoughts on your guitar when you get it.

I own a dc400c and used to own an ultra-v.

I only sold the ultra-v because I decided I don't like kahler vibrato bars.

Carvin makes excellent guitars. The woods and craftsmanship are top notch. The pickups aren't as bad as some people say,I actually like the sound of them. The pots and switches are a little poor. But over-all you get quite a bit for your money.

The company has a very good reputation for taking care of their customers if ever there is a problem.

I'll start a thread and post pics when the new one arrives sometime the middle of may. And clips too! cool

1. Hughes & Kettner TriAmp Mark II (I swear that's the LAST amp!)
2. Dying to send my 6505 to FJA to get it modded with a new OT. Have you heard those modded 5150 clips? F*cking amazing!

My next amp will be a SLO, but sadly this is not the year I will get it. Most likely next year after my wife has graduated and is working so we have two incomes. But oh how sweet it will be when I finally reach that day! For now, I guess I just have to depend on the Deca.....oh, darn!
