pulled the trigger on a G-System to run with my HR50+...and it sounds AWESOME!!! takes a little tweaking, and I had to mod my FX loop because the signal was a little too hot...but it sounds great. I don't notice any unwanted tone sucking going on. sounds very real and not processed like some other units i've had. i run it with the 4 cable method using an OD pedal and Phaser in the G-System loops, along with my Heads preamp...very versatile setup.

i should also mention that for anyone NOT liking the Soldano Sizzle...there is a very simple mod that takes some of that away...very nice mod...i think i'll upgrade it and make it so it is activated via a small toggle switch on the front panel.

my other gear is a Peavey Wolfgang Guitar(s), Orange 412 and Orange 212, Morley Steve Vai Wah.

i'm not sure the "name" of the mod...but it only involves clipping out a couple of capacitors...1 for the clean channel, 1 for the OD channel, and 1 for the Warren Haynes mod. I was told by the Soldano techs that these capacitors effect the high end...and it does take some fo the sizzle away.

i went ahead and installed a mini-toggle switch on the front panel to allow me to switch this capacitor "in/out" of the circuit. you could actually install 3 toggles...1 for clean, 1 for OD, and 1 for WH mod...but since i prefer the capacitor "out" of the circuit for the clean channel...i only installed the toggle for the OD channel. also, the capacitor for the WH mod really only effects the tone at low gain settings...which i rarely use.

having the switch you can hear that the mod is pretty subtle, but still noticeable. i've only played the amp a few times since the mod...
