Yea its the real deal. See my post under "Missisippi queen" in the amp forum. The pickups are broke though. I have a set of Bareknuckle pickups ready to go in when I get time.

I gotta get some good pics of the PRS. I have some, but their not too good. Will post when I get some better ones.

I never saw pics of yours. Put em up.

if you're looking to get them fixed send them to tim at bareknuckle, i think he still does that (especially if they're vintage), and really i dont think anybody's better with PU's than him

here's my PRS, she's a Mcarty trem in teal black with 10 top and brazillian board. the pickups are a Nailbomb in the bridge and a cold sweat in the neck

thanks! it's the indian rosewood, not a special edition, but a $700 option. the board and headstock face is IRW, too. i picked it up on the 'bay for $1700. top has the pattern of a flamed '10-top', but doesn't have the definition. someone paid close to 4 grand when it was new last year.

bargain mate, what does the rosewood do for the sound as compared to say a mahogany neck

the hog absorbs more of the sound, so it's a little warmer and with a little less sustain. this neck actually resonates in your hand; you can feel the string vibrations through the neck! it seems to make the sound brighter, but not just in high frequencies, but in the lower register as well, almost like your presence turned up a little. i really like it for the feel, but the sound is a little different than most are used to. i like it just fine!

PRS guitars are terrific. I have two McCartys, one with a trem, maple neck and ebony board, one no trem, nitro, rosewood neck and 57/08s. The first one has a great edge to it, the second has a very sweet tone and is super light at 6lb 6 oz. If you are still playing LPs, you must spend some time with a McCarty. The only way I'd buy a LP now is if I got a deal on a 50's original.
